Gasoline Test Lab

Description

Development of Engineering concept, budget, design, permitting & construction coordination for a Test Laboratory capable of testing gasoline & diesel fuel dispensers and their components under conditions which represent in-service environments. Capable of running & monitoring equipment over long term (life-cycle) testing.

  • Created conceptual design considering NFPA, insurance carrier, building code and operational requirements. Coordinated all city approvals, permits & Fire Marshal interface for this project.
  • Created detail design drawings & technical specifications for procurement of a modular structure to be up-fit with equipment, considering retention of fire suppression water & laboratory needs for frequent instrumentation changes.
  • Prepared project P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) to illustrate all system piping, ventilation, and explosion protection equipment. Designed foundations, stairs, & platforms.
  • Conducted system HAZOP (Hazardous Operability Study), updated detail design features based on recommendations, shared results with local Fire Marshal and insurance provider.
  • Created detailed piping, & equipment installation drawings; conducted pre-bid meeting for all contractors. Provided on-site construction supervision & coordination.

Deliverables

Project budget, technical specifications for the modular facility procurement, P&IDs, Foundation, Stair / Platform, Process Piping, & Utility Piping Drawings, HAZOP Report w/ recommendations.
